Joshua Rakhman, PPS EMT PI
Joshua Rakhman — President of Vigilant International — brings over two decades of experience across the security industry, spanning roles from armed guard to chief strategist. His diverse background includes private-sector operations for multiple world renowned firms as an independent contractor, and local manager, as well as providing direct oversight of client relations, large-scale event security, and complex risk-management logistics. Joshua’s leadership is defined by his commitment to precision, discretion, and uncompromising professional standards in every engagement.

Joshua holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology with a concentration in Psychology from the State University of New York at Old Westbury, located in Long Island, NY. His ongoing commitment to professional development has led him to pursue advanced training and certifications from a range of accredited institutions — including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, ASIS New York, the Department of Homeland Security, the Executive Protection Institute, Vehicle Dynamics Institute, Golden Seal Enterprises, and Private Officer International, among others.
His specialized instruction encompasses vehicular dynamics, counter-surveillance tactics, and protective operations methodology. To further his expertise, Joshua is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security Management from Long Island University.
As a certified Emergency Medical Technician with a strong foundation in project management and technology, Joshua has proudly served as a rescue first responder within the open 911 system for the past ten years. His medical training and operational experience as a security combat medic positioned him to become the lead instructor in the nation’s largest private, volunteer-led CPR initiative — successfully training more than 6,000 students, from kindergarten through 12th grade.
His extensive additional training includes Executive Protection, Surveillance Detection, Covert Protective Operations, Asset Protection, Technical and Social Media Exploitation, Logistics Planning, Communications, Due Diligence, Behavioral and Threat Assessment, and Site Surveying. Joshua has also completed multiple advanced evasive driving courses through the Vehicle Dynamics Institute in New Jersey.
